An update now on the story we first told you about on Monday. A BC film maker narrowly escaped a grizzly bear attack, well shooting a documentary. But he hasn’t been able to escape the anger of many viewers who saw the footage. Tim Weeks explains.
Photographer Leon Lorenz says he’s been taking pictures of wild animals for more than 19 years. He’s never hurt an animal, never fired a shoot, until this. Lorenz scared off the grizzly at the last moment by firing this gun in the air. But inspect the positive reaction of the fact, neither he nor the bear’s arranged. He was disappointed, many criticized him.
“Put the gun to the equation, you put yourself in danger. You put the bear in the common danger.”
And that was just a hint of what was coming.
“The harassment journey, all the people from the city do not understand wild life or wild life filming. So by that just make deep comments. I’m getting hate mail from all over the country.”
Among the comments says the bear comment generated are:
“He should be charged with harassing wildlife. I’d give him an Honorary Darwin Award as well for the close call.”
Another says
“I don’t care about you-they could have been hurt by your ignorance. Too bad they didn’t kill you.”
And another
“Damn, I was hoping for another Darwin award. This represents an unfortunate example where nature failed to cull out another human.”
Loran doesn’t the first human attacked by viewers following a bear attack. In 2008, one man were severely mow by a black bear, he fight back and killed the animal.

And soon after he started to receiving threaten and harassing phone calls.
“But lot of those peoples, they don’t really have much knowledge or understanding of the wild. I’m talking about back country, bush, or there’s nothing between you and death.”
Lorenz says he fells misunderstood.
“I wanted to be made and abound more clear, I did not stocked animal. It was a sudden and close counter.”
He says that close counter’s taught him something about bears and the people who watch them.

The mysterious airway block just killed baby beluga away at the Vancouver Aquarium, Nala died last night a year after her high profile birth. Justin Ma is live at the aquarium, Justin.
Tony, visitors love how close they can get to the belugas here, but staffs are looking into whether that had anything to do with Nala’s death. After they found rocks and a penny in her system. Belugas are the star attractions at the Vancouver Aquarium. They’re especially popular with kids, they just can’t get enough.
“I wish I can just take them home and have them, myself, pet them.”
For one of the star is now noticely missing. Nala was born last year to great fan fair, but last night she stopped breathing. Staff say the calf has a growth off her airway, that growth become inflamed and eventually suffocating her.
“Not exactly sure by any stretch what the cost that are talking was suspected, could either be congenital problem, or might be due to inhalation of foreign body.”
That growth contained two pebbles and a penny. Staff say rocks are normal part of pool environment, but they’re not sure how the coin got in the tank. Right now there’s a sign of this warning visitors not to dropping anything into the pool. But even kids can climb on the ladder here and lean over with their hands. A aquarium staff say with the latest death to looking at whether visitors are given too much access and whether the glass here should be rised. The critics say that’s not good enough. That the only way to prevent more death is to face out captivity.
“Baby beluga was delivered for a life time of torture which was Vancouver Aquarium represents. That is what the children have to understand when they go to the Vancouver Aquarium, they’re seeing suffering creatures.”
Five belugas have been born at the captivity at the aquarium. Three of them have died before the third birthdays. Staff point out the first year survival rates for memo’s in captivity is 40% to 50%, about the same as in the wild.

Grouse Grind
周末去了Grouse Mountain，真正的hiking了一次。Grind全长2.9km, 海拔一千多米。现在真的是老了，耗时2小时15分钟。虽然最后双腿发软，但是坚持到底，终于到达了山顶，还是非常高兴的！去hiking的有很多强人，看到照片上最后的那个妇女吗？她的胸前背了一个不出两个月的小baby.

Two days, two damning reports about the RCMP. First the bungled air India investigation, tonight the much anticipated release of the Braidwood report, the final say on Robert Dziekanski’s agonizing death. The RCMP is always defended its actions. But the report finds the officers who try to detain Dziebanski were not justified using a Taser and deliberately misrepresented their actions to investigators. The CBC’s Chris Brown has our lead story tonight.
Ian, this is the international terminal at Vancouver airport where the four officers tasered Robert Dziekanski. For 2 and half years, the Mounties insisted that Dziekanski had broughted on himself. Well today, the inquire judge rule that many other things. They said were patternaly unbeliviable.
“This tragic case is at its hard. A story of shame for conduct by a few officers.”
That shameful conducts says just as Thomas Brainwood started just 30 seconds after the 4 Mounties encountered a distracted confused Robert Dziebanski. They stunned him with the Taser, some with though they dealing with some on in bar room brow.
“I concluded that the constable was not justified to employ the weapon.”
These actions ruled the judge were outrageous and I condemn those actions in the strongest possible terms. 5 times constable Quazy milliton fired his weapon. Then the other officers piled on.
“I’m satisfied that both these stresses contributed substantially to Mr. Dziekanski’s death.”
The judge descript to every bet of justification used by Milliton, Mountie Roberson, Jerry Redell and Beill Bebly.
“Patternly unbelievable, after the fact, rushlizations deliberated misrepresentations.”
I also disbelieved the four officers claims there was no discussion between or among them about the incident.”
And so faced with indefensible BC attorney general said the decision not delay criminal charges against officers will be reviewed.
“Cram Brantion and I believe the circumstance here not just warned but require a fresh look and reconsideration.”
“Our policies and train were inadequate. The actions of our members were not appropriate.”
None of the four officers has even been discipline and the RCMP commissioner refused to say if they would be. Much to the disappointment of Dziebanski’s mother Zophia.
“Right, they still don’t. And you have no answer with, I need the answer with it too.”
For Zophia Ciscowski the day seems overwhelming after accepting another apology from the RCMP commissioner. She thanked the judge for the report which she titled “Why”. It was the a last thing Dziekanski asked before the taser was fired.
The BC government also announded today. The establishment of a new civilian agency that will investigate all serious complains against police here in BC, including the RCMP that was another one of the judge’s recommendations but really he over and over again in his report. It is a scathing commends against RCMP, that’s sounds so striking.

Today’s report points the loophole in the airport’s security, particularly cargo handling. So how does Vancouver international measure up? Erik Rankin reports on that.
When it comes to security, Vancouver airport has a dark history. It was here the bomb was loaded on to the air India flight 182, killing all 329 people aboard. And wore another bomb dusten for a second air India flight was routed through Japan, killing tow baggage handlers at Aread airport. Today YVR officials won’t comment on how much security has change since then. But for season travelers like Ann Henneau it’s still not good enough. She just wishes the tough screening passengers go through was also on posed on cargo, ground cruise and airline personal.

And there is this, about a dozen kilometers a fencing around the approval of the airport. Most of the lightly patrolled, no obvious electronic surveillance leading to gates like this with small chains can easily be cut by bough cutters allowing someone access to cargo areas and landing air craft.
“Well, when CBC’s reporter easily take a tour around the rumider and find gaps in it. I think, YVR can se the control to find same gaps and it’s fairly easily to close.”
Even with the recommendation contained a massive in India report. And things the travelers will never be completely safe.
“You know that report won’t change anything. We’ve talked with the India about the thing for such a long time. We all know that. There’s risks when you go flying. And there’s crazies everywhere.”

We all have pin numbers or passwords, but not many of us can remember all of them. Now security experts are thinking beyond your alpha new nightmares. Theresa Lalonde explains.
Search engines, photo sharing pages, bank, social networks all passwords protected. The more we use, the more passwords were supposed to have.
“More than a dozen, I guess.”
“And how do you remember them?”
“Oh, I got them on a list, like, pinch tight on my desk.”
“I have no idea how many I would have.”
I did a poll on twitter today asking people how many passwords they had. One said three, that they use over and over again. The average 10 to 15. One guy said 133, put that together with banking pins, credit card pins, that a lot to remember.
“Passwords were real created by Geeks for themselves and now for security reasons. The geeks, the IT people, in pose the restrictions.”
The passwords stolen the most is the simplest to remember, “12345” the word password “Iloveyou”, and most common kids names, “Nicole, Daniel and Ashley.” So we have complex passwords, but many people just end up writing them down. A big “NO,NO” in the security world. Vincalek think it’s the time to ditch letters and numbers and go for image.
“You say, you know what I’m going to do dogs. So I choose my five favorite dogs.”
WE choose 5 images and remember them, hard for hackers to know what dogs or what mountain ranges or elect Elvis only when he wore white. This image technology is still a year’s away. In the meantime, Vincalek offers a tip.
“T, triangle, Theresa, very easy, and you’re done.”
Remember a letter and shape around it, like a triangle. That’s your new password.

Now the federal immigration minister says he is considering changes to Canadian law. Changes that would allow a husband in this situation to be send back to his country of origin. Lisa Johnson has that story.
This is far from the first overseas wedding, attended in accusations of fraud. Canada’s immigration minister estimates there are thousands each year.
“The problem is that is if the sponsoring spouse absolutely vouchers that legitimate, boon, fine marriage. That they’re truly in live and this is for the long term. We feel enbridge to welcome that sponsor spouse as a permanent resident.”
Now Jason Kenney says that could change.
“What I’m thinking of doing is holding some consultation over the some on this and seen what of the solutions we can find.”
The minister isn’t say yet what those solutions will be. But he is looking at other jurisdiction, like Australia and US. Whether is a probation period. That’ll mean a delay before the sponsor spouse get permanent status here in Canada.
So when the husband or wife arrives in Canada, he or she can’t just run off. The initial Visa is temporary and if the marriage doesn’t last, the visa won’t either. A good idea says this immigration lawyer and analyst, but not for every couple.
“It’s unfair to trap all the good people, inviolate marriages, young and in love with additional expensive hurdles and burdens.”
So who would decide which marriages get the adamsgrutern. Kurland says the government’s own reason of pilot pro-checked in mainland, China shows we need more Visa officers asking questions in key locations.
“Our pilot pro-checked with Visa officers interviewing many people. Put end to large number of fraudulent case.”
In the mean time, Kurland recommends would be sponsors get pre-action agreement and a lawyer.
