If you’re a driver, who still call and text behind the wheel, take a note. As of today, police of Ontario and BC will no longer issue warnings, instead they’ll issue some fines. Allison Johnson has the detail for us from Windsor Ontario.

If you attempt to pick up the phone and make call, you may want think it again. If you’re in BC, you get caught, it cost you a $167, $165 if you’re caught in Ontario. I think it’s going to be a hard habit to break for a lot of people. Now in Ontario the law actually came to effect on Oct. But until now police just issuing warnings and I have to say things haven’t change that much. You still see people texting, talking on the phone. I’m not going to admit to breaking the law, but I will say that I know for sure that things are going to be different for people today in Ontario. The OPP says they have issued about three thousands warnings since the ban came to effect, but no more warning after today.

And no debate points I understand for those Ontario. But you will get fine for sure.

That’s correct. Yeah.

Not just calling and texting that can get drivers into trouble, being on your blackberry as well. What other devices are we looking at in part of the ban?

That’s right, you’re not allowed to call, you’re not allowed to send emails, you also not allowed to play video games, you’re not allowed to use potable DVD or music player. But you still allowed to use your phone if you needs to make an emergency 911 call. And you also still allowed to use wireless technology and I visited couple of stores around here, since the ban took effect, they said they experiencing a records sale of the things like blue tools technology. That allow you to do this hands free. Even still there some studies in the States recently released suggested they’re no more safe, more safer than using your cell phone. But at least for now, it wouldn’t get you any fines.

Nor video games, no blackberries, no talking on your cell phone. What about GPS, it’s like electronic device, you’re not necessary use it in your hands.

As long as you can get it stuck to your dashboard, you’re still allowed to use that. But you can’t use your hands to touch it.

And obviously no programming whiling you driving.

No programming while you driving.
