Police now say the American student who fell to his death at the Capliano suspension bridge, North Vancouver, climbed over the barrier himself. Belle Puri has the latest.

It appears was simply a young boy’s foolish risk cost him his life. Daniel Cho arrived from California, Sunday afternoon, near hour’s later he fell 30 meters to his death. It happened at the Capliano suspension bridge, the first stop on his high school’s music exchange. North Vancouver RCMP says officers spend two days interview witnesses and gathering evidence. There’s no sign of a fell play. A news release says: “In spite of the many warning signs and high barriers cho had earlier been seen going over similar barriers in a different location and had been warned to stop. Sadly he did not.” Although the park was busy, no one saw cho climbed the rail, hidden by tall trees. Operator of the private’s traction say was a tragic incident, not a safety issue.

“We can’t have a staff member following every person in the park, so we have stuff that equip for visitors coming to an outdoor park.”

Last summer, the budding 17 years old musician recorded a song. Now his brother has posted it as a tribute on YouTube. Cho’s classmate have resume their week long visit to BC, and end at Victoria to perform in a concert.
