B.C. transport operation carries on after licenses pulled

Our another story tonight about the questions about driving practices. This week on “go public”, we investigated British Columbia’s trucking operation that maybe putting you at risk. Here is our “go public” reporter.

“Oh, three million miles.” He drove Greyhood buses for years with no accidents then. “My whole body shunt back and my legs went up and the broken steering went off.” Gery Redia was injured permanently when a trucker trailer from Bayridge transport wheel ended his ven at full speed. “Without stopping at all, you know” “no stop”, “No. No skiing marks or anything. Truck was just coming.” Turns out Bayridge drivers cause 26 accidents in last 3 years. One left trailer burning on the highway. A provincial auditor found some working much longer than the law allows and faking law books. “It’s of a taking time on the highway there, over the drivers, over hours and certificated as they learned from this accident.” Province pulled Bayridges operating certificate. The drivers are still on the road though for Rideline. Different licenses same owner. Still hauling for a major BC grocery chain. “Unfortunately, some shippers choose use these carriers without asking any questions. The trucking association syas carriers that lose licenses should’t be able to carry on under other names and the Minister agrees. “We order the other companies as well. Riteline translport has just been audited. Managers refused to be interviewed, but says it’s now monitoring the drivers with GPS units in the trucks. There is a nation wide push among carriers to make the truck monitoring mandatory. In Ontario, operators have been stop for having multiple licenses. And BC is cracking down too with more audits actions and investigation.
