Welcome back. Every go to sports and wonder who those people are get winded and dieted and plush seats. Today the metro Vancouver mayors say they will be use some of your tax dollars to try to entice people who invest in the local economy. Belle Puri reports.

The Olympics are unmistakable on time opportunity for athletes to shine on the international stage. But metro Vancouver politicians are positioning to get their municipality on the pictures as well. Nine local governments has bend together to host foreign business people during the 2010 winter games and hopes that later they will come back to us drag a deal. “With foreign investment, we can develop partnership with the local business and we can create employment for the region. Decision makers from 50 small and medium companies will get the Olympic invite paid for by taxpayers. Half of the 1.5million dollars will come from the Ottawa, the rest from the cities. Critics say that local government should just reduce the property taxes to attract business. “Politicians bring business to a community by creation an environment that prompts business development not by partying on the taxpayer’s towel.”

The business people will spend 4 days in the region. They will meet local industry leaders and they’ll go to the Olympics and the tickets will be free. We do have a dialog with Bendlock and some assurance. That we will have the block tickets through the games to use for this purpose.
